Tumblr, meet Jacob. He’s the sweetest boyy I know and he makes me so happy more than I thought I could be. So for the people who keep asking to see him ahah here you go.. :)

So I normally don’t post pics of boys this young, but I know one of them through tumblr.
The guy in front is Tanner, from Canada. I’m sure you know the tumblr stereotypes about how nice Canadians are, but unfortunately many of Tanner’s classmates were the classic homophobic assholes, and made his life miserable for years. I actually met Tanner when I was reporting a Facebook hate group (setup by a 15 year old!) directed specifically toward him. He had just gotten his tumblr, and it was already full of “anons” telling him to go kill himself, eat glass, “anorexic fuck”, etc. One of his classmates stole his iPod out of his locker, and when some guy started an online fundraising drive so we could help buy Tanner a new one, he ended up stealing all the money and not giving Tanner shit. The tumblr community got involved and some well-meaning individuals actually figured out where he lived and contacted the police because of the bullying he had reported on tumblr, inadvertently forcing Tanner to publicly come out to much of his school and to his parents.
Thankfully though, his story gets better. For me, the best part about it is that I got to see this amazing transition. Tanner’s father still loves him and handled his coming out amazingly well. Tanner switched schools, and left that original mess behind him. He was interviewed by local Canadian TV about gay rights and a GSA at his new school. Last year he was accepted into a competitive summer dance program in New York. And the best part is that he recently started dating Jacob, the cutie in the back. Tanner, I’m proud of you man, and really happy for you. And everyone else: it DOES get better. Don’t let anyone (including yourself) tell you otherwise.
